Less than 24 hours away from tearing apart my overwhelming amount of gifts and causing a suffocating shower of wrapping paper!
Christmas
December 23, 2006Monday is Christmas Day. I bought a few things for people, and I know I have quite a few things under the tree and will recieve even more during the party. Number 1 on said list is an Xbox 360 or a Zune. Down the list I have a couple DVDs, giftcards, games, calendars, etc. The standard list to me: same types of items that I usually want. Today we made cookies and prepared for the Christmas dinner. Apparently our church isnt doing a candlelight service tomorrow night so we arent doing that… Anyway I always get to open a gift or two on Christmas Eve, so I have a couple that would be perfect. Some look like books so they seem to be ones that wont spoil any suprises too early, but are still cool to open.
What else is going on in my self-centered life? I started Eragon (the book) and I gotta say for a 17 year-old author, that is great writing. Chris Poalini uses vivid imigary to bring his story to life. I’m only in about 50 pages, but I can tell this is a pretty awesome book. Too bad the movie sucks, though. I have been reading some reviews and there have been some dismal comments. Most critics are saying it is “borrowing” a lot of stuff from Lord of the Rings and other movies of the genre. I can see some Narnia elements as well.
Halo 3 NEW 7 min Video Documentary!
December 21, 2006Digg: “The documentary will run for almost exactly seven minutes (coincidence? UNLIKELY!) and contains a first peek at the bad guy you will grow to love and hate in Halo 3. Well, mostly hate, but you will love fighting him. You
’ll see what amounts in a way to the first glimpse at Campaign content.”
Me: Ok, a couple days ago a new Halo 3 video/documentary thing went up on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Since I couldnt view that, I waited until it showed up on youtube yesterday and watched it there. I gotta say that H3 looks amazing. Apparently the Elites are teaming up with the humans to fight against the Brutes. The whole concept of the Brute has been changed so they don’t look so much like big hairy gorillas. They have this super-sweet armor and I think they are more of a challenge to kill than before. In Halo 2 all you do is shoot them a million times until they are dead (while avoiding those weird bezerk charge things). They didnt have any specific weaknesses or techniques to kill them with, it was kind of boring. Now they are amping it up a little and making them the prime adversary of Halo 3. I hope H3 lives up to the years of hype leading up to this long-awaited launch title and killer-app for the 360.
Availible on the marketplace now!

Even MORE expensive PS3!
December 21, 2006Ken Kutaragi has promised an “AV-centric PS3.” So instead of buying a PS3 for gaming, it would be for enhanced audio and graphics capabilities instead. Speculation around the announcement is guessing at an expected price tag of about $2,500. The new PS3 would include a “power supply unit, anti-shake insulator, twice the main memory, and 2x HDMI.
I think this is about the most retarded thing I have heard all day. Nobody even wants to buy the PS3, and there are actually more out there than people want. The demand is low and the supply is getting higher. What is the point of putting out an even more powerful and expensive Playstation that doesn’t even play games? It’s like there is way too much power and not enough equipment or games to use it with. I hope this causes Sony a huge blow. Not bankruptcy or anything serious like that, because I love Sony products besides the Playsation. They went from owning the game console market to being the least popular next-gen system currently. Godspeed, Sony, Godspeed.
